Just a few necessary things that will make you feel comfortable in the Northern Venice
THINGS TO BRING WITH YOU
In Winter: A warm hat, a warm coat, warm clothes and gloves.
In Summer: A raincoat, an umbrella, water resistant shoes, a cap. Make sure you have at least one pair of long pants (people are not allowed to enter churches in shorts)
Camera and film, if you have APS bring enough film, it is hard to find in Russia; A power converter and adaptor. Russian standard is 220 Volts AC, 50 Hertz. If you have a laptop or other electronics with you, bring an RJ-11 adaptor for the Russian plug.
Travel Attire
Comfort is the key when traveling. Casual, loose-fitting clothes are recommended. Dressing in layers will allow you to adjust to climate changes between your home and Russia.
Sportsware
Your activity will dictate you the sportswear you will want to bring. However, no matter what you do, you will need warm coat and hat in winter time.
Dressy Evening Attire
For some occasions you may need a dinner dress or an elegant pant ensemble. Men will be suitably dressed in nice slacks with a dress shirt. It may happen on your visits to the Mariinsky theatre.
